Boy Scout Troop 345 is sponsored by the Northwood Presbyterian Church of San Antonio TX. Traditionally Troop 345 has been a well rounded group known and respected for it's out going adventure in camping, hiking and learning new things. As many members reach the adult phase of their scouting many new boys have crossed over into the troop creating the opportunity to take the troop in a new direction and discover new interests, adventures and build lasting friendship all the while molding into the future men of tomorrow's world. As their leaders we look forward not only to what we can share with these young men through their scouting journey but also we are excited to see what we as adults may learn from them.

Camp Bound!

On Saturday, June 11, 2011 Scout Troop 345 met in the church parking lot to begin their trek to
Sid Richardson Scout Ranch (SR2) is a Texas–size camp with16 miles of rugged shoreline on 10,000 acre Lake Bridgeport. SR2 has lots of history, and 2,500 acres of scenic cliffs, prairie, and heavy forests. The camp’s historic 1870’s U.S. Cavalry site is a centerpiece of Texas High Adventure Base. Our working Blacksmith’s Shop, Country Store, museum, saloon, and Post Office are official Texas landmarks relocated with original artifacts from Vineyard, Texas.

A few of the guys are new to the camp and were excited to see what was offered.

Boy won't they be excited when they see what is offered at Sid Richardson Camp?
Check it out here! (Sid Richardson is the last one featured.)

Three of the older boys, Chris, Cole and Sam were more than excited to be heading off
to experience the Chisholm Trail at Sid Richardson.
And it looked like Mr. Jones was just as excited to be their leader!

Of course a bunch of guys going to camp means
a bunch of gear to pack!

Of course whenever our guys get together
despite the work they always have fun!

While there will be a great deal of fun at camp we are always grateful for
Mr. Patterson and the other adults that ensure the safety of all and making
sure all paperwork is in order for the trip.

And then with all in order just like that the parents were left standing
with mixed emotions of sadness that their boys were growing into
young men and happiness that they were off for an adventure they won't forget!
